Alberta L. Webb passed peacefully away in her home Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at the age of 104. Alberta was born and lived her entire life in New Orleans and Covington.

She was the BELOVED wife of Green Webb Jr. and the daughter of the late Virginia and Charlie Lavazant. She is survived by her son, Robert Harper Jr.; daughter, Beverly Harper; daughter-in-law, Alicia Harper; grandson, Derrick (Dawn) Williams; two great-grandchildren, Dawnece Williams and Damirus Williams; sister-in-law Rachel Perkins; brother-in-law LeRoy Smith and hosts of godchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Webb retired as a seamstress at Dress Circle. She was a long time member of the Doughty Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served on the Stewardship Board.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Doughty Chapel A.M.E. Church, 623 N. Lee Road, Covington. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer plants or donations made to the Doughty Chapel A.M.E. Church, 623 N. Lee Road, Covington, LA, 70433. Arrangements by Richardson Funeral Home, Covington.

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
