Irma F. Ricks passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She was born on Sept. 1, 1961, and lived most of her life in the New Orleans/Slidell area.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, James Ricks Sr.; children, Renisha and Joshua Ricks; stepchildren, James, Lakindra and LaShawndra Ricks; mother, Ruth Bernard DosPassos; brothers and sisters, Jerry Felton (Cynthia), Ivan Felton, Don Felton, Gregory Felton, James Roberts (Eugenne), Riley Roberts, Artie Felton (Charlotte), Roscoe Johnson, Ruthie Murphy, Anne Walker (Saul), Clara Ricks (Joe) and Mary Felton. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved father, James Felton.

All St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office staff members, Slidell Memorial Hospital staff members, relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. in Slidell. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service tiem. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Business attire is strongly encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to a nonprofit organization of your choice.

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
