John “Johnny” Elroy Hudson, 84, of Pearl River, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pearl River, 32nd degree mason, past master of Pearl Lodge 456 and a member of Shriners.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Moran Hudson; two sons, Johnny and Ronny Hudson; and daughter, Sylvia LaCoste. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Bessie Hudson; brother, Robert Hudson; and two sisters, Inez Marshall and Helen Dean.

A visitation will be held from 6-10 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home, 67252 Louisiana Highway 41 in Pearl River. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Home. The Rev. Alvin Waller will be officiating. Interment will follow at Audubon Cemetery in Hickory.

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
