Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church for Charles Amiere Quess Gwynn, 3, of Slidell, who died Sunday, June 28, 2009, in New Orleans at Children’s Hospital.

The Rev. Michael Kelley will officiate services, and interment will follow in Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Niketta Gwynn of Slidell; His paternal grandparents were George and Corene of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Tim and Kenta Wiley of Slidell; paternal great-grandparents, the late William Harris of Cleveland and Barbara Harris of Cleveland, the late George Samuel of Long Island, N.Y., and Alice Samuel of Long Island, Charles and Mary Gwynn of Long Island, Barbara Gwynn of Convers, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Willie and Betty Fortenberry of Slidell; maternal great-grandparents, Manuel and Leola Coleman of Picayune, Miss., the late Isaiah Williams of Picayune and Shirley (Coleman) Williams of Picayune.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 Thursday.

    " I will never forget that smile when you would drink your chocolate milk on your visits to Bonne Ecole. Lord grant comfort at this time to the family of little Charles. "

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
