Doris Taylor Lipscy, 75, of Slidell, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Northshore Regional Medical Center.

She was the beloved wife of the late Elroy Lipscy for 58 years. She was the mother of Deborah Woods (Ferman Woods), Gus Lipscy, Lynn Rice (Wayne Rice), Mark Burge and Paul Lipscy (Sabrina Lipscy); daughter of the late Charles A. Taylor Sr. and Helen Stein Taylor; and sister of Maxine Danner (Robert Danner) and the late Charles A. Taylor Jr.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandson.

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past 35 years, Mrs. Doris was the retired cafeteria manager at Carolyn Park Elementary School in Slidell.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery). Interment followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Donations to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital are preferred in lieu of flowers.
