Robert Moore of Canyon Lake, Texas and Kathryn Cancienne of Slidell announce the engagement of their daughter, Kassie Lauren Moore, to Cory Allen Stafford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Stafford of Slidell.

The wedding will be solemnized in early October in Covington and will be officiated by the Rev. Rod Pasch. A reception will follow at Vintage Court in Covington.

Moore is a graduate of Slidell High School and Loyola University in New Orleans where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. She is currently enrolled in Our Lady of the Lake College’s physician assistant school where she will receive a master’s degree in medical science next spring.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian R. Pichon of Slidell and Betty Knights and the late David Knights of Sun Valley, Calif.

Stafford is a graduate of Slidell High School and Southeastern Louisiana University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. He is currently an assistant manager at Southside Café in Slidell and is planning to open his own restaurant on the Northshore.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Stafford of Petersburg, Ind. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buchs of Ashley, Ind.

Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Slidell.
